Take control of your boat. Complete steering system for inflatable boats, aluminum jon boats or fiberglass boats.

The Benefits of Using a Central Console For Inflatable Boat.

Ever since I was a kid, there's nothing I have loved more than spending a day out boating on the water. Back then, it was normally a morning out fishing with my dad. Nowadays, it's me taking my own son out to see what's biting. Or taking the whole family onto the lake for a day of leisure.

When I was growing up, my dad had a hard hull fiberglass boat. But a few years ago, I fell in love with inflatable boats. These amazing watercrafts offer most of the benefits of a fiberglass boat, but with some added incentives. First off, they are significantly cheaper. And secondly, they are way more convenient to both move and store. But there was one thing about these inflatable boats that would sometimes bother me. I occasionally missed the feeling of sitting behind the wheel of my machine. But now, I can satisfy that feeling whenever I want. That’s because I just bought a brand new central control console for my inflatable boat.

For just $219, I got the total central console package, which included the rotary steering helm, steering wheel, 7’ cable, and aluminum frame. Then all I needed to do was select the link control steering arm specific to my outboard engine, and purchase it for a nominal fee ($15 and up). My central console steering system was quickly shipped to me. And when I received it, I couldn’t believe how easy it was to assemble and install myself.

Once I had my amazing new steering system installed, I couldn’t wait to test it out. I took my inflatable boat out for a spin, and it was like I had just bought a brand new watercraft. My ability to control the boat, which was already great to begin with, was taken to a completely new level. It was like the difference between driving a normal car and a Corvette! I just couldn’t believe how smooth and responsive the steering was.

The next thing I decided to get for my inflatable boat’s new steering system was the throttle box. While this is not needed to use the steering system, I felt that the ease and convenience of use made this a smart purchase. It’s especially helpful when leaving or coming back to the dock, making adjusting your speed incredibly easy. Plus, it reminded me of my days out on my dad’s boat.

Another thing you can add to your boat if you want to give it that fisherman’s feel is a fishing chair. You can very affordably buy a seat pedestal, a swivel base, and a fishing chair to put on top of it for not much more than a total of $40. These items can be found all over the internet, as well as in large retail stores like Wal-Mart. They are easy to install, and will last you a long time.

So for under $300, you can now make your already amazing inflatable boat into a high performance fishing boat! I did it to mine, and it’s been worth every penny and more.

Avid Travelers Must Have Inflatable Kayaks To Take You Around the Most Beautiful Waterways in a World.

Look around. Your world is beautiful and full of places waiting to be explored. Sure, we all say that one day, we will visit that stunning island we saw on the Travel Channel, or we'll fly to faraway places to learn about other cultures. What you won't believe is the latest way people are indulging their wanderlust: by exploration via inflatable boats, rafts, and inflatable kayaks.

In fact, we came across someone who is doing just that. We just read an inspirational story about a woman who got herself an inflatable kayak to make her way through Italy's picturesque waterways.

Really, she took her inflatable boat from place to place and popped it in the water every time she saw something new she wanted to see. She even got to see a marriage proposal as she glided down a river one Spring morning.

Pretty incredible considering she is from the United States and used her own kayak that she brought with her on the plane ride over.

You might be asking yourself, how’d she do this? How can I get one of these inflatable boats, rafts, or inflatable kayaks?

Tiger River Borgo, Rome, Italy

This is definitely a good question and one that has a pretty remarkable answer. For her, and for so many other people who love the outdoors, there are some inventive companies who strive to make explorations safe, affordable, and fun.

A really popular means for those who want to see cities from famous waterways like the Boston Harbor, the Greek Islands, or the Coast of Maine, is the inflatable kayak.

You know, it’s one thing to stroll along and look out onto a turquoise bay in Miami or a winding river in California, but let me tell you this. Putting yourself out there on the water with ease using a lightweight inflatable kayak gives you a whole different experience.

Key Largo, Florida at Sunset

Like when our traveler to Italy used her inflatable kayak to follow the River Brenta to Padova alongside elegant summerhouses and villas belonging to Italian nobility.

When you experience these sites from the water, you connect in a way that let’s you dream about the history and the people of yesteryears. It makes you think about your own life and your plans for the future.

Whether you prefer the transportability and affordability of an inflatable kayak, or if you prefer a hard hull kayak, there is no doubt that we all stand to see incredible things along our journeys.

If you are comfortable with staying relatively local, and by this we mean strapping a heavy hard hull kayak to the roof of your car to wind down local waters, then this type of vessel would be right for you. Keep in mind that your investment will be significantly larger, and the cost of maintenance typically runs high.

Now, if you’d rather ease into your own outdoor adventures with a very safe and solidly built vessel that can accommodate more than one person plus lots of gear as well as seats for comfort, then an inflatable kayak is the way to go. Besides which, the cost is much easier on your wallet, and you’ll be able to take the boat with you anywhere.

So as you sit at your desk and ponder what the world has in store for you, think of yourself basking in the sun as you take your inflatable boat along the infamously clear waters of Eleuthera, all the time smiling inside as your worries melt away.

Fitting a Small Engine on an Inflatable Boat for a Powerful Ride

You should limit journeys in small inflatable boats to smaller distances in the calmer waters of the harbours and in winds of under force 4. If not, you will have difficulty in controlling both the boat and navigating the direction in which you are going. A solution is to fit a bracket over the tube or transom on which a small outboard engine can be mounted.

Inflatables are so easily driven that you only need an engine of 1 to 2 horsepower to make progress in reasoncale conditions, but the quality of these boats has advanced so much that most can easily take a 5-10 hp engine. One of the main issues you might experience is in engine starting, because these are almost always hand-started. The strong pull you need on the starter cord can be enough to make you lose your balance, particularly if the engine has to be started in gear making the boat move forward as soon as the engine is started.

You should be able to start the engine from a seated position. Once underway be ready to direct the boat in the right direciton. With one person steering from the back the bow will be lifted enough to deal with small waves. Luggage and travelers will have to be properly arranged to slim the boat to give a reasonably dry trip and good progress. You will also need to adjust your speed to match the conditions of the water. A bow dodger will help to give a clean dry ride.

If you think you can avoid getting wet during a serious trip in an inflatable, one trip will quickly correct your thinking. Any water in the bottom of the boat will immediately collect around your shoes as you step into the boat. It will run to the deepest part of the bottom where the majority of your weight is concentrated.

If the boat is inflated properly it will respond more like a hard hull boat and this would enhance its performance when rowing or with an engine. A soft boat will be harder to row that a fully inflated boat since the row locks will bend under the strain. This boat will also deform under with heavy cargo sitting on the tube. Often, problems with uner-inflation stem from the difficulty of inflating the boat on the deck of the yacht or when alongside, especially when the temperature may be moderately high. The pressure of a boat may be fine on land, but when it is put into the cold water it reduces the pressure inside the boat and the boat becomes flabby. Rock solid inflation of inflatables certainly helps the handling, but do remember that if they are left out in the the hot sun the pressure will rise to unacceptably high levels.

A good alternative to the gas engine is of course the electric motor which requires no hand-starting.

Saturn Inflatable KaBoat Fishing Expedition to Swedish Laplands with a 5-HP 2-Stroke Engine

The journey to the Mountain Lakes in the Swedish Laplands starts with an eager outdoors man, his Saturn Inflatable KaBoat 430 and some traditional outdoor equipment. He must carry all his equipment by hand and even has to wade through rapids in areas that are to harsh. In the video you can see the man trekking through the woods with his lightweight inflatable KaBoat being held above his head. Once he makes it to an acceptable part of the river he loads his equipment and begins his journey.

The 5 hp Yamaha engine gives him super fast speeds with his narrow Saturn KaBoat to get to his first resting place. Again the man lifts the inflatable boat above his head and makes it through a patch of forest to even more intense rapids that he must walk his boat and equipment past. Then he his back on the water ripping through the currents with his narrow KaBoat and 5 hp engine.

Eventually the river opens up and the rapids disappear. The beautiful mountainous background quickly becomes apparent. It looks like a good time for the man to take a break and enjoy some well-earned fishing at his newly discovered location. Grayling is the most common type of fish in this area and the man quickly makes his first catch though he just as quickly states his preference for trout.

Once back on the water he ventures towards the gorgeous snowy mountain tops that so few get to see. He gets there quickly with his trusty KaBoat in waters that would normally hamper most dinghies.

Upon entering the next level of valley, the docile and serene setting make it the perfect place to stop and set up shop and take another short break. The man rests his equipment and sparks up a pipe to the sound of birds chirping amount and otherwise silent environment. He takes a moment to study the light shadows of some passing fluffy clouds, and then it's back on his journey.

He gives himself a soft row into the lake from the shore where he was resting. The scene of mirror like water between the mountains reaching into the heavens is just too mythical not to take notice. And with that the venturous man cranks up the engine and begins to make his splash in the untouched environment.

At the far end of the lakes a small mountainous river flows into the lakes. Again our wanderer tries his chances with fishing. And with that there is a reward that highlights his trip; an Arctic Char, the most delicious fish there is grabs the bait and in on the hook. The video action of this fish is amazing; showing the fishes colors waving like a flag as it fights to stay in the river. Our resourceful journeyman makes quick use of fire to cook his fresh catch right there on the spot.

After this is a sort of boaters siesta as the man slowly rows around his tranquil settings. Stunning view after stunning view is caught on his camera as he makes his way out of the peaceful lakes and back towards the rapids.

His journey was great and as he makes his way down the path that lead him there he must feel content with an amazing day in the natural Lapland lakes of Sweden. It's time to leave these wonderful scenes and go back. His Saturn KaBoat makes it even faster to descend down the rapids as it did to arrive. And with that there is one more exceptional day in the history of our journeyman.

Saturn Inflatable Boats Are Used for Floodwater Rescue by many Emergency Departments across the US.

Many firefighters spend weeks in the water perfecting their flood rescue techniques like the Enid Fire Department. After major flooding in May, the departments Training Officer said the department needed a new Saturn inflatable rescue boat to perform their duties. This is because firefighters were called to rescue at least five motorists from floodwaters during the spring storms.

Baker was quoted as being currently "training" using several methodas of flood water rescue to attend to victims in future floods. As the weeks comenced the firefighters partook in many training exercises to hone in their skills.

In one exercise firefighters used a Saturn inflatable raft and net to rool simulated victims from the water and into the boat.

Assistant Fire Marshal Todd Hays says that rescue efforts are "putting our rescuers' lives at risk" and specifically referred to the last season when motorists were driving around barricades and becoming stranded in floodwaters. He says "we put our lives at risk as well as the victim."

There are now new laws in effect now that prevent drivers from passing government barricades of closed roads. But just in case motorists do, and end up stranded as a result, the firefighter department in Enid Oklahoma has purchased a new Saturn Kaboat for rescue efforts.
