Saturn CB290 inflatable Boats will work great for the bay, river, lake or even ocean. Once deflated, CB290 boats can be stored in your trunk, as they take up about as much space a medium luggage bag. Store it anywhere, take it anywhere. Store it in the RV, take it to the lake, or put it in the ocean. Your Saturn CB290 inflatable boat will get you closer to the surf, the fish, and the great outdoors, faster, cheaper, and easier than ever before.
Question: How to install optional keel?
Answer: While this boat was originally designed as a flat bottom boat, it is also possible to add optional DIY keel to improve performance and directional stability. It can be done by placing elongated semi-rigid structure under air floor while it deflated. There are 2 Velcro straps glued to the bottom of the boat, under air floor. These straps were designed to hold down for example foam swimming noodle, that can act as an improvised keel, or perhaps some other structure, such as shaped wooden keel for example. Easiest and simplest solution would be to purchase $3 large diameter foam swimming noodle in local retail store, such as Walmart or Target. That noodle will imitate inflatable keel when placed under air floor. It also could be possible to place PVC tubing inside that foam noodle, for additional rigidity. Two straps glued on bottom of boat, under air mat, will hold noodle down.

Quick Tip! Worried about puncturing the air floor with a fishing hook, dog claws or sharp object? Get a piece of vinyl flooring or rubber mat from your local hardware store. Cut the vinyl to fit inside the boat, over the floor and your air floor will be almost indestructible! When deflating, just roll it up along with the boat for future use.

Note: Specifications and accessories are subject to change without notice. Max O/B Motor means: maximum power of outboard motor that can be safely used to plane the boat loaded to the maximum capacity at normal water surface conditions. Please exercise common sense and caution when using maximum motor capacity. Do not jump from wave to wave as new 4-stroke motors are much heavier then 2-stroke and provide extra strain on the transom. Under normal circumstances, with half the maximum persons/load capacity, 50% of maximum O/B power rating may be necessary to put the boat on plane.

The CB290 inflatable boat features smaller tube diameters, a more narrow hull, and no inflatable keel compared to other Saturn boats of similar size. While these design choices contribute to the lower price point, they do result in a slight compromise in stability and performance. However, for those seeking a budget-friendly option and are willing to adapt their boating style, the CB290 provides an excellent entry point into the world of inflatable boating.

I've continuously owned inflatable boats for over 50 years. Currently also have a Hypalon 310 RIB. I bought the Budget 9.6 inflatable, to have a lightweight boat to take on the sailboat for weekends without having to get the RIB out. It's light, very well built, materials look good and the design is pretty solid. If looking for a light easy to haul around inflatable at a great price, this would be good choice.

Never thought I would enjoy boating until I purchased the Saturn CB290. It's affordable, durable, and extremely convenient. The flat air valves with the pushpin design are reliable and simple to use, and the rub strike all around the boat is very durable.
What I love most about the boat is its versatility. Whether I want to use a gas motor to speed across the water or an electric motor for a quiet fishing trip, this boat supports it all. Plus, the high-pressure drop stitch air floor included adds to the rigidity, ensuring good performance. If you're considering this boat, don't hesitate. It's worth every penny!

I was a bit worried, while I know Saturn is a great brand I dident know if this inflatable would be good considering how low the price is. I needed a dinghy that would be easy to transport and quick to deploy yet strong and reliable and I am really happy to say that I found it with the cb290, it has a really nice build quality, I would suggest you give it a try its definitely worth it.

When I got mine I was worried if the transom was going to hold up with the motor I wanted to put in but when I saw it I knew it was going to be alright its made really tough and looks like really good quality and so far its been performing splendidly I have not had any issues what so ever. I would recommend this for anyone who needs an affordable dinghy, if you are like me and were worried about quality, dont, its made really well.
