Towing tube with inflatable boat SD385

New features further improve inflatable boats durability and practicality:

  • Air valves have been moved toward the inside of boat's tubes and away from direct exposure to the elements. This will allow easier inflation from inside the boat and will minimize damage caused by sun and rain while the boat is stored uncovered for prolonged periods of time. Rain water will not accumulate inside the valves.
  • Triangular symmetrical splash guards were installed on the transom corners to provide the sensitive transom of an uncovered boat with additional protection and shade from the elements throughout extended periods in Tropical environments.

Quick Tip! Worried about the heavy weight of a hard floored boat? Don't break your back! Get a foldable hand cart from any retail store to carry the folded boat around. Even inexpensive dolly movers will work great for transporting a folded or fully inflated boat. Get dinghy dolly wheels to easily move the inflated boat across the shore and into the water.

Note: Specifications and accessories are subject to change without notice. Max O/B Motor means: maximum power of outboard motor that can be safely used to plane the boat loaded to the maximum capacity at normal water surface conditions. Please exercise common sense and caution when using maximum motor capacity. Do not jump from wave to wave as new 4-stroke motors are much heavier then 2-stroke and provide extra strain on the transom. Under normal circumstances, with half the maximum persons/load capacity, 50% of maximum O/B power rating may be necessary to put boat on plane.

Got this boat in May. Also bought a 20hp Suzuki 4 stroke, 3 bow Bimini, launch wheels. Been using it both on ocean and rivers. Been out 4x in January (Boston). We don't own a car. Been using rentals (Zipcar). Have loaded boat, motor, gear in all kinds of cars: VW Golf, various SUVs, even a Mazda 2 (eg Yaris). The 2 of us (seniors) have handled it (120# boat, 100# motor) fine. We can be in the water at a nearby spot in an hour from our decision to go (loading/driving/unloading/inflating/setup). Have GPS measured speed at 22 mph with 2 adults, gear and Bimini up. I've owned/built several boats, this one is crazy fun and very seaworthy.

I am half way through the second season with this boat. I take it out about every other weekend during the summer.
WHY I BOUGHT IT
I love being on the water. Originally my intent was to carry the boat in the back of my SUV, whip it out at the lake or gulf coast, blow it up and cast off. For me this boat is too big to blow it up at the destination. I bought a jetski trailer and converted from youtube instructions. Now I leave it on the trailer and tow it to the destination. Now with this boat and the optional launching wheels you really don't need a boat ramp and can push it off the trailer and pull it very easily even with the attached Tohatsu 20hp and gear it is easy to manage.

HANDLING
With the 20hp motor topspeed is right at 22mph with one or two people. In rougher water it cavitates easily and my plan is to add anti-cavitation wings to the motor.
In rough seas it is quite bumpy. Not smooth at all, so plan for that. Largest seas I have been in is 3 and 4 foot. But it is like a cork and just rides on top of the seas.
It is quick to turn and gets up on plane with little throttle.

CONSTURCTION
I leave the boat outside on the trailer with a cover. In the S. Texas heat everything seems to be holding up well. I apply some 303 UV protectant every couple of months on the exposed parts. Nothing has broken, come apart or let go. I have abused the bottom on sharp shells, sand and rocks. There has been no problem to date. I might be over inflating the tubes, floor and keel a little but not over 1 psi of the recomended pressures. I don't fish from the boat though I have and have even gone into the shallow flats in coastal waters. I wish the drop stitch floor were more stable as my 67 year old ankles and legs don't balance very well on it.

OVERALL
Overall this is a good boat and at the price point it is hard to go wrong. It is constructed well, even abused it holds up well. I suspect this will be a 5 season boat so the amortized costs are well worth the fun it has provided.

I love the look of my 385 and have so much fun in the water, thank you for such a great offer.

I want this one with an air deck. The 12' has been out of stock forever. Tried contacting you. No luck. Do any humans work at boats to go? Called to ask about partnership with Walmart . Guy at BTG had no idea. Neither did anyone at Walmart . It must be secret!

I live on a Lake in Tennessee and see jet skiers and boaters whizzing around, and having lots of fun. I recently purchased a 13ft sd 385 Saturn Inflatable Boat and decided to join in on the fun. I am an average swimmer with minimal boating skills. The lake is a large and a bit scary in bad weather. I was hesitant to go beyond the shoreline, because I feared that my inflatable wasn't safe enough to get me across the lake. After tons of research on the BoatsToGo website and inflatable boat forums, I come to realize that inflatable boats can actually be safer than fiberglass ones. It makes sense, because a single small hole can sink an entire fiberglass boat. The Saturn boat that I purchased has 4 chambers. You would literally have to puncture all four chambers, for the boat to sink. Once I was enlightened with this info, i was definitely much more confident in my little vessel. As long as the weather is nice, you exercise caution and have all of your safety requirements met, there nothing to be afrade of.

Well first off let me just say that I live in Oregon and I love your boats! When I received my new boat I went through the steps to put it all together, all was very easy and it looks and performs as stated. I was happy to see very clean glue lines and overall quality of my new SD385. I power it with a mercury 9.9 and it planes very well in light chop with four people in it, With two it just fly across the water! I will buy a Saturn again and also highly recommend these boats to anyone looking for a well made inflatable boat that can take a beating. Thanks to boatstogo I am a proud owner of a very fun boat and shipping was easy and fast.

I used this boat for fishing and taking boat rides around the local lakes and rivers. The 9.8hp motor is powerful enough to get the boat up on a plane with two guys and a day's worth of gear in the boat. With 5 people in the boat things get a little crowded for fishing, but there's still enough room to move around. The wide tubes and hard floor make the boat incredibly stable. You can stand up in it without making it rock, and the boat has handled some big waves (across the middle of Smith Mountain Lake in VA) with no problems. The best thing about this boat is how easy it is to transport and store. The boat and motor fit in a small pickup, and would fit in the back of a large SUV too.

I love my boat. I have had it for two years and always get complements on it.
